A Lee’s Summit resident for nearly 40 years, Jon and his wife, Juli, have influenced and impacted virtually every facet of the city.

One of Jon’s greatest strengths is his ability to bring concepts to reality, and he has been willing to personally invest time, money, and energy to ensure each endeavor is successful.

A community’s ability to grow and thrive is tied directly to the willingness of its business leaders and residents to engage and volunteer, and Lee’s Summit today is growing and thriving largely due to the commitment of leaders like Jon Ellis (and other Legends of Lee’s Summit).

Jon’s leadership and board service includes (but is not limited to) Lee’s Summit Parks, Lee’s Summit Optimist Club, Lee’s Summit Rotary, John Knox Village Foundation, Powell Gardens, Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Lee’s Summit Health Care Foundation, Lee’s Summit Educational Foundation, Blue Springs School of Economics, Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce, Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council, Commerce Bank, and FIFA 2026 World Cup community team.

Jon’s leadership is sought after and valued wherever he engages.

Jon graduated from Iowa State University, received his master’s degree from the University of Missouri, and is a graduate of the Helzberg entrepreneurial mentorship program. Jon and Juli have two sons who also live in the Kansas City region.
