A Legend of Lee’s Summit is a person or family who has impacted (or is impacting) the Community of Lee’s Summit’s past, present, or future.
The nomination is annual, beginning in 2023. Individuals and/or families are first considered, then vetted, and finally, formally nominated by the History Museum. Each year, a maximum of four individuals/families are honored.
Once the nomination and vetting are complete and an individual/family is accepted, they will be notified. A formal announcement will be made to the community, and they will be publicly honored.
As a Legend of Lee’s Summit, an individual or family’s impact on the Lee’s Summit community will be honored and celebrated in a unique and permanent way.
