Remembering Lee's Summit speaker

Join us for the next  “Remembering Lee’s Summit” on Thursday, June 11, 2026, 6:30-7:30 at Bridge Space.

We look forwarding to hearing from a few of Lee’s Summit’s best. Russ Berlin, Bill Feller, Kim Fritchie, and Anne Smith will be sharing stories about high school class and orchestra trips, riding bikes around Longview Farm (before there was a lake), what Lee’s Summit was “like” in the mid 1970’s … along with stories that sometimes surprise all of us! Carl Chinnery will be the evening’s moderator.

April storytellers (Kim Hassler, Bob Johnson, Randy Weeda, and Dymon Wood, along with moderator, Carl Chinnery) shared stories and memories about Lee’s Summit schools from days gone by, notable pieces of legislation, Lee’s Summit’s 100-year centennial celebration, and working for Lula Long Combs.

Always look forward to conversations and stories surrounding topics such as:

  • growing up
  • schools
  • churches
  • parents
  • farming
  • downtown
  • airport
  • telephones
  • government
  • hobbies
  • cemeteries
  • and so much more
Visit the Museum’s Facebook and YouTube page(s) to see recorded snippets of stories from our storytellers.
