What is a Legend of Lee's Summit?
Legends of Lee’s Summit was created in 2022 by the Lee’s Summit History Museum’s Board of Directors to celebrate and recognize a person or family who has impacted (or is impacting) the Community of Lee’s Summit’s past, present, or future. Each year, a maximum of four individuals/families may be honored.
Legends Categories include the following areas:
- Humanitarian
- Entertainment/Arts
- Civic/Pioneer
- Athletics
- Military
- Literary/Education
- Business
Do you know an individual or family that has had a significant impact in making Lee’s Summit what it is today and deserves induction into the Legends of Lee’s Summit?
Consider nominating a 2026 Legend of Lee’s Summit. Deadline for 2026 nominations is October 1, 2025.
When you submit a nomination, you will be notified via email from legendsofls@leessummitmuseum.com that your nomination was received. If you do not receive an email from us, please call the museum at 816-287-4477. Leave a voice message, and we will return your call.
