Legends of Lee's Summit Nomination Details

Legends of Lee’s Summit was created in 2022 by the Lee’s Summit History Museum’s Board of Directors to celebrate and recognize a person or family who has impacted (or is impacting) the Community of Lee’s Summit’s past, present, or future. Each year, a maximum of four individuals/families may be honored. Honoree Categories include the following areas:

Humanitarian
Entertainment/Arts
Civic/Pioneer
Athletics
Military
Literary/Education
Business

Annual nominations from the community will be accepted. After submission, individuals and/or families are first considered, selected, and vetted. Once vetting is complete, the individual/family will be notified by the Museum. A formal announcement will be made to the community, and they will be publicly honored. As a Legend of Lee’s Summit, an individual or family’s impact on the Lee’s Summit community will be honored and celebrated in a unique and permanent way. Do you know an individual or family that has had a significant impact in making Lee’s Summit what it is today and deserves induction into the Legends of Lee’s Summit? Please attach supporting information for your nomination. This must include:

Biographical and professional information, including evidence of significant achievements.
Additional information that you feel would help the selection committee (this could include examples such as community and public service or professional success towards making Lee's Summit what it is today.)
Written bio for the nominee as if it were a press release. It should be no longer than 300 words.

The submitted form and additional information must be at least 3 text pages up to a maximum of 15 pages and may include photos, awards, articles, etc.

Nomination Deadline: Nominations for 2025 Legends must be received by 10/31/2024 to be considered.
